Pianist & Piano Pedagogue

Dr. Lynn Worcester Jones is the Associate Professor of Piano Pedagogy and Chair of Secondary Piano and Piano Pedagogy at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, where she directs the piano pedagogy and group piano & secondary piano program, including 20 sections of group piano and more than 200 students each semester, and supervises 9 graduate teaching assistants. She teaches undergraduate through doctoral-level courses in piano pedagogy including group piano pedagogy, intermediate piano pedagogy, independent study in teaching and research, and applied secondary piano. Dr. Jones has performed across the United States, Italy, and Austria, given more than seventy workshops and lectures nationally and internationally, and authored sixteen articles, columns, and reviews in Piano Magazine, American Music Teacher, Clavier Companion, and Piano Pedagogy Forum. Current professional leadership includes VP for Membership of the Ohio MTA (2026–28), MTNA East Central Division Competitions Chair, and the National Planning Committee for The Piano Conference: NCKP 2027. Dr. Jones currently serves on the editorial board of Piano Magazine, previously served two terms on the editorial committee of American Music Teacher, and is the author of Teaching Piano to the AI Generation, ed. E. L. Lancaster (Piano Education Press, forthcoming in 2027). Teaching and research awards include 2024 Teacher of the Year from both the Tennessee Music Teachers Association and the Chattanooga Music Teachers Association, the 2024, 2025 and 2026 Collegiate Connections awards, the 2024 UTC Outstanding Research & Creative Achievement Award, and early tenure and promotion (2023) at her former institution, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
